Do I have to go where
my insurance company tells me?
No! You have the Right to Choose.
Don't be intimidated by your insurance company when they tell you
that going to a shop besides the one they say will cost you extra.
Some insurance companies imply that you will get an unsatisfactory
job from any shop other than the one they want you to go to. They
may also tell you that you will have to pay any difference in price
if you don't go to the shop that they recommend. It
is your right as a policy holder to go where you want to go!
Before you go where your insurance company wants you to go, ask
whether that shop uses OEM windshields, the proper urethane sealant
and primers and provides a lifetime warranty. If they don't, tell
your insurance company you are not going to a shop that gambles
with your safety.

What is O.E.M. Glass?
O.E.M. stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. When you purchase
a new vehicle and drive it off the showroom floor, every component
on the vehicle is considered to be O.E.M. (Fenders bumper, glass,
muffler.) When you replace a part such as a fender or windshield
that is not made by the car manufacturer you are replacing the O.E.M.
part with an aftermarket part. The aftermarket part is not the original
equipment for your car and may not be as high quality.
Can I drive my car immediately
after the windshield is installed?
No! This could be a deadly mistake. Safe Drive Away time is the
amount of time that your car is required to remain out of service
until the windshield can properly operate as a safety device. The
urethane that is used to hold your windshield in place takes time
to set up. The time varies depending on the type of urethane and
the weather conditions. On warm, high humid days the urethane will
set up faster than on cold, drier days. This is why we do not install
windshields in temperatures below 40 degrees. If we did we would
be putting you and your familys safety at risk.
How long does my car
have to set after a windshield installation?
Most windshield installations require that the car remain out of
service for 2-3 hours depending on the humidity and temperature.
Upon request we can install the windshield with a special chemically
curing urethane with a drive away time of 1 hour.
What do I need to do
after a windshield installation?
Here are some post installation guidelines:
Do
not pressure wash your vehicle for 24 hours
Leave a ¼ inch gap in your door glass
to prevent build up of air pressure
in the car. This
build up of pressure can cause the windshield to leak.
Do not slam the doors for the first 24 hours
Limit driving for first 24 hours if possible
Remove any tape that was used after 24 hours
How long does it take
to do installations on antique cars?
Depending on the make, model, year, and what glass needs to be replaced
anywhere from 1 day to 1 week. No car is rushed to get it out the
door!
Do I have to bring my
antique car to you?
Yes, with any type of glass fabrication the time involved in cutting,
seaming, and fitting requires special equipment. This equipment
is located at our facility.
Will my car be kept
inside and secure?
Yes, our large facility has room to store and work around your car.
Our building is monitored by a state of the art security system
tied in with both the police and fire department.
Whats the cost for antique glass?
Cost depends on many variables. Give us a call or stop by for a
free quote.
